The ring groove supports use with retaining rings, the smooth walls support use with friction rings, and the through hole supports use with retaining pins. The end of the extension has a through hole that requires a retaining pin and ring to securely connect to a socket or another accessory. All of our 3/4 inch drive sockets, extensions, adapters, and reducers are made out of 4140 steel and have a corrosion-resistant manganese phosphate coating.
